Echinacea purpurea 'Pixie Meadowbrite', commonly known as Coneflower, is a compact selection of the native purple coneflower developed at the Chicago Botanic Garden. It produces an abundance of bright pink blooms with horizontal petals surrounding a prominent orange-brown cone. Its short, sturdy stature makes it ideal for smaller gardens, the front of the border and containers. Flowers appear in summer and continue over a long season, attracting butterflies and bees, while the seed heads feed goldfinches into fall. It is heat and drought tolerant once established. Plant it in full sun with average, well-drained soil.
