Hydrangea paniculata 'Limelight', commonly known as Limelight Panicle Hydrangea, is a classic flowering shrub known for its huge, cone-shaped flower heads. Blooms open a cool lime green in midsummer, mature to creamy white, and take on rich pink and burgundy tones as the weather cools in fall. Strong, upright stems hold the large flowers well, and the blooms are excellent for fresh or dried arrangements. Because it flowers on new wood, it blooms reliably every year and can be pruned in late winter or early spring to shape. It is one of the most adaptable hydrangeas, tolerating more sun than many types. Plant it in full sun to part shade with moist, well-drained soil as a hedge, specimen or foundation shrub.
