Phlox paniculata Ka-Pow 'White Bicolor', commonly known as Summer Phlox, is a compact, well-branched garden phlox with fragrant clusters of white flowers, each marked with a bright hot pink eye. The Ka-Pow series begins blooming in late spring, earlier than most garden phlox, and keeps flowering heavily into late summer. Its shorter, sturdy habit keeps it neat at the front or middle of a border and makes it well suited to containers. The series was selected for good resistance to powdery mildew, a common problem with older phlox varieties. Butterflies and hummingbirds are drawn to the blooms, which are also excellent for cutting. Grow it in full sun to part sun in moist, well-drained soil.
