Phyla nodiflora, commonly known as frog fruit, is a low, sprawling, mat-forming perennial native to much of the southern and central United States and beyond. This tough groundcover hugs the earth with trailing stems that root at nodes, creating a dense carpet of small, wedge-shaped leaves that stay semi-evergreen in mild climates.
